LUKE 5:12-15 NLT

“In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. Then Jesus instructed him not to tell anyone what happened. He said, “Go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.” But despite Jesus’ instructions the report of his peer spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear him preach and to be healed of their diseases.”

The Bible speaks of many instances where people are healed both physically and spiritually of diseases and demons. It sounds crazy, and sometimes pretty cool but many people don’t believe that this kind of healing still happens in today’s world, do you? I’ll admit, it’s sometimes hard to believe that the stories in the Bible could still be true to this day. But if we look at the source of these healings, and other stories that seem so far fetched, we’ll find that all it takes is Faith. The man in this passage was healed from Leprosy because he had simply had faith and believed that Jesus had the power to do so before the action took place. He became an example, amongst many others, of Jesus’ immense and incomparable power. In my personal life, I have also made the choice to believe not only in healing but that God will show up when I call through Jesus’ name. Nothing is impossible, and believing that is just the start! What kind of healing are you looking for in your life? Do you believe in God’s ability to make the change?
