“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”

Im sure we’ve all tried to hide something from our parents that they already knew about before they asked us. We try to lie or try to hide and we end up getting caught and exposed in the end anyway. In that same way, God knows the things we do before we do them and before we confront him about it. There is absolutely nothing that we can hide from God, and the examples have been set since the beginning. Look at Adam and Eve. They did the one thing that God instructed them not to do, and then tried to hide. They were quickly reminded that there is no hiding from the one who, both, created and knows all. This is something that I still remind myself, as I continue to battle with my own sin and actions that do not align with God’s word. I can’t hide and I’ll never be able to hide, so either I don’t do it or I do it and face the consequences straight up. Is there anything that you’re currently trying to hide from God? Or from yourself?
